Open Educational Resources: What do Students Think?
Date and Time: November 11, 2015, 12:00pm-1:00pm
Location: Online, Blackboard Collaborate
Description: What do students really think about the cost of textbooks and OER? Ethan Senack, the Federal Higher Education Advocate for US Public Interest Research Group (PIRG), has worked with the students of the StudentPIRGs in analyzing the effects of high textbook costs and surveying students across the nation about the issue. He was the main author of the well-known Fixing the Broken Textbook Market report in 2014. In this web event, Mr. Senack will provide a student-centered look at the OER movement and the need for more affordable textbooks and choices in the textbook market.
