About
Textbook Transformation Grants Round Two: Grantees and Documents
The Round Two Request for Proposals (RFP) offered grant awards to be made to support adoption, adaptation, and creation of no-or low-cost learning materials in USG courses in four categories: No-Cost-to-Students Learning Materials, OpenStax Textbooks, and Course Pack Pilots, and Transformations-at-Scale, a new type of grant focused on department-wide or multiple-course adoptions. A maximum of three per campus were to be awarded in this round. All USG institutions, libraries, and faculty were eligible and encouraged to submit proposals. Online information forums were held on October 29, October 30, and November 6, 2014. The deadline for submission was November 30th, 2014, except for Transformations-at-Scale proposals, which were due on December 8, 2014 .
The Georgia Institute of Technology’s Center for 21st Century Universities (C21U) managed the review process independently on behalf of ALG, working with a team of reviewers who evaluated the projects in a blind process, using a rubric that was provided to the proposers in advance of submission. Proposing teams were notified of the review committee’s decision on Friday, January 23, 2015.
78 proposals were received from 25 USG institutions. Of these, 27 proposals from 16 USG institutions were awarded grants.
More details are available in the Round Two Grant Spreadsheet.
