Tutorial 1: Finding Free and Open Resources

Introduction

Welcome to Finding Free and Open Resources, a chapter-by-chapter informational tutorial for USG faculty and staff interested in replacing expensive commercial textbooks with affordable resources.

By the end of this tutorial, participants should be able to:

  • Define “open” in the context of open educational resources (OER)
  • Identify and use Creative Commons open licenses
  • Find and evaluate OER and no-cost resources
  • Use resources from USG libraries and GALILEO as teaching materials

This is the first in a set of two informational tutorials. The second tutorial, Using, Adapting, and Creating Open Resources, is forthcoming.

This is a non-facilitated program. For in-person events and webinars, please view our Training and Development Events page.
